Nearly There!

The Mast Stepping took place on 19th July. The Fox's riggers lifted the GTI Carbon mast and fitted it back into position before the first fix of the rigging. Over the coming days the rig will be 'dock' tuned alongside finishing work on the deck and the interior. We are nearly into the snagging stage of the job and by early next week She should be ready for sea trials. Subject to reasonable wind (>15 knots) the rig will be tuned under load and, with some final preparations, will be ready for departure for the passage round to Milford Haven. The new teak deck and window refurbishment looks superb and congratulations to Fox's on the quality and workmanship of the finish. The guys from the Oys

Launch day has arrived...

After 3 months in the Fox's workshop the day has finally arrived when Moana goes back into the water. It's been a very exciting day watching the final touches being made to the hull, bowthruster and propeller before the launch at midday on 16th July. There's still plenty of work to do before She is ready to leave Ipswich, but this feels like the real beginning of our adventures with her. The mast will be fitted again on Wednesday (18th July) and then the rigging needs to be 'tuned' at the dock followed by sea trials in a good breeze to tighten things up and carry out any final checks. There's another 10 days or so before everything is shipshape and Bristol fashion! #Maintenance
